Out of 51 internal projects worth 9.5 million CZK, CEITEC BUT ceramics groups PhD students secured success in 6 projects, with a 100% success rate!!
51 internal projects with a total value of 9.5 million CZK competed for a share of the total 4.7 million CZK available for this year's Specific research programme.
30 reviewers had selected 25 successful projects (success rate 49%), of which altogether 6 were submitted by PhD students of ceramics related research groups with a 100% success rate!!
Two projects were submitted by students of RG of Prof. Karel Maca, one by a student of RG of Assoc. Prof. Ladislav Čelko and three projects were submitted by students of the research group of Prof. Martin Trunec.
The line of success or failure is very narrow, as you can see from the attached figure:
Topics of our PhD students' projects:
Eliška Šiška Virágová: Improvement of mechanical properties of 3D printed hydroxyapatite-based scaffolds.
Pavlína Šárfy: Utilization of reflective holographic microscopy technique for cell mass analysis on bulk ceramic substrates.
Lenka Drotárová: 3D cell culture of human osteoblasts and osteosarcoma cells in a bioengineered bone marrow model.
Erik Ščasnovič: High entropy oxide (MgCuCoNiZn)O: Determination of sintering activation energy.
Marek Rotter: Processing and properties of transparent/translucent high entropy ceramics.
Daniel Valášek: High entropy carbides investigating processing strategies for improved fracture toughness.
We congratulate our ambitious PhD students on their success and wish them all the best in their future endeavours in the field of ceramic research!
